About

The PLEDGE project, funded by Horizon Europe, explores the emotional dynamics of political grievances and their impact on democratic politics. In collaboration with researchers, policymakers, and citizens, PLEDGE aims to understand publicly manifested emotions and develop practices and tools that promote emotionally aware democratic governance, political communication, and active civic engagement.

Launched in February 2024, the project is currently in the data collection and methodology development phase. A multilingual model, a theory-driven and validated AI-supported big data analysis for identifying emotion-based political grievances, is under testing. Beyond research activities, the consortium has also established advanced research data and risk management principles, procedures, and monitoring mechanisms, which have been shared as deliverables. Maintaining and refining these processes remains an ongoing task.
