Dr. István Stumpf, constitutional lawyer, political scientist, former constitutional judge and Minister of the Chancellery as well as university professor, received this prestigious state award on the occasion of Hungary’s national day, March 15. Our institute’s retired Senior Research Fellow was honored with the Széchenyi Prize in recognition of his academic career of exceptional value to Hungary, for his outstanding research in political science (especially in the fields of the constitutional state and the constitutional order), his rich and significant publication record and his dedicated and effective teaching and public engagement.
