The Momentum MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme is an ambitious initiative aimed at attracting outstanding postdoctoral researchers from around the world to join Momentum research groups in Hungary. Momentum, launched in 2009 by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, has funded over 225 independent research groups across disciplines. The Momentum MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship is co-funded by the European Commission under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions grant.

As one of the host institutions, the HUN-REN Centre for Social Sciences proudly participates in the Fellowship Programme. The Institute for Political Science offers postdoctoral candidates the opportunity to work with the PRiSMa research group, led by Principal Investigator Márton Bene.

PRiSMa investigates how political representation unfolds in a communication environment increasingly shaped by social media. The group studies the dynamics between institutional political actors and citizens, the responsiveness of political actors to the political activity expressed by citizens on social media and non-electoral actors who effectively advocate for representational demands on these platforms. It also pays attention to the new forms of political inequality that arise from the fact that political activity on social media can be intimidating for many people due to psychological or social reasons.

Applications are now open for the Momentum MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme. We warmly encourage early-career researchers with an interest in political communication, digital democracy and social media-driven representation to apply. This is a unique chance to engage in impactful research within one of Hungary’s leading social science institutions.
